Henry Hall Program at the National Aquarium in Baltimore, Maryland
In August 1982, the National Aquarium established the Henry Hall Endowment Fund to provide free educational opportunities for students who attend, or are graduates of, the Baltimore City Public School System. The program offers summer excursions as well as educational and career opportunities for students interested in marine and environmental science. It also provides scholarships and offers paid internships for college students studying biology, engineering, environmental science, and aquatic science.

The Posse Foundation
The Posse model works for both students and college campuses and is rooted in the belief that a small, diverse group of talented students—a Posse—carefully selected and trained, can serve as a catalyst for individual and community development. As the United States becomes an increasingly multicultural society, Posse believes that the leaders of the 21st century should reflect the country’s rich demographic mix. The key to a promising future for our nation rests on the ability of strong leaders from diverse backgrounds to develop consensus solutions to complex social problems. Posse’s primary aim is to train these leaders of tomorrow.

Ward 8 Woods
Ward 8 Woods Conservancy is a grassroots nonprofit organization that works to rejuvenate and enhance the beauty, ecological health, and public enjoyment of the more than 500 acres of forest in the Ward 8 section of Washington, DC. We engage residents as paid staff and as volunteers to restore the woodland ecology, build trails, and promote healthy and sustainable living. We use the woods as a tool for healing and empowerment.
