BACKGROUND
Vicki holds a Bachelor of Science degree in marine biology from the University of Maryland, College Park. While completing her undergraduate degree, she worked at NIH in the field of molecular research at the National Cancer Institute. Her training in molecular biology led to an interest in the field of molecular marine biology where she worked at the Johns Hopkins University and the Hopkins Marine Station of Stanford University. In 1992, Vicki and her husband moved to Budapest, Hungary, for three years where she worked as a newspaper columnist and guidebook author. Upon moving back to the United States, she left the workforce to raise three children and then re-entered it as a substitute teacher for Fairfax County Public Schools. Vicki's abilities for organization, research, and her desire to help others find their own path soon led her to focus on a career in college counseling. She joined a tutoring company as a college advisor in 2014 and then completed her college counseling certificate through UCLA. Once she became a full-time college consultant, she founded her own company, Point A College Counseling® LLC, in 2019.
